The Catholic Medical Students' Association is an organization seeking to promote spiritual and moral values, foster the development of spiritual life and worship, and provide an opportunity for medical and dental students to share their experiences. The organization is interested in integrating medical education with faith and ethics.
All Catholic Medical Students in the US and Canada are encouraged to become members.
International medical students may join as associate members.
Benefits include a quarterly newsletter, special invitations
to regional meetings, and a free book on Catholic Medical Ethics. The first four years are free. Join today!
Medical and dental students should also join the Catholic Medical Association so that they can stay informed and be prepared to participate in forming health policy for the nearly 200 Catholic hospitals and other Catholic health care institutions in the country. The USCCB Ethical & Religious Directives is another important text to read. Whether practicing medicine in a Catholic or secular institution, it is necessary to keep these precepts in mind. Finally, members of the Catholic Medical Students' Association should work to exemplify the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, especially caring for the sick, the poor, and most vulnerable members of our community.
